As the founder of 52BLEND, an Arts & Entertainment agency, I was selected as the recipient of the 2020 Department of Arts and Culture Ford Theatre Grant. The grant was awarded for conceptualizing and producing a live concert and dance presentation at The Ford Theatre in Los Angeles titled "52BLEND presents AfroLatino".Throughout 2015-2020, I was contracted by Arts Brookfield Los Angeles and Brookfield Properties as both a Talent Buyer for live music events, as well as Curator of Spotify playlists for their Downtown L.A. commercial properties including FIGat7th and Halo. I was instrumental in setting Arts Brookfield's attendance record for their FIGat7Th Downtown Music by being early on booking now GRAMMY-winner Anderson Paak, Soulection, and Jazz phenom Kamasi Washington for their 8-week "FIGat7TH Music Festival" and “Sounds Of L.A." respectively.
For six years in a row, I was selected as the Producer and Music Consultant for Sony Music Latin’s after-party which follows the Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards®. I collaborated with Sony Music Latin's team to successfully grow its annual after-party from a 200 person private event in 2012 to 1,500 VIPs in attendance by 2017. The after-party became one of the premier private events during Latin GRAMMY Awards® weekend. This event brought out music industry executives from Latin America's regions along with celebrities that included Maluma, Carlos Vives, Becky G, Natalia Lafourcade, and Will Smith.
I also served as Producer of the concert portion of the MojaMoja Brunch & Benefit Concert for seven consecutive years. This event was held during GRAMMY Awards weekend at select venues in L.A., Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. I was responsible for all production functions which featured GRAMMY-nominated and GRAMMY-winning artists including Mavis Staples, Janelle Monáe, Macy Gray, Los Amigos Invisibles, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Questlove.
As a music Promoter for record companies, my career began working at Columbia Records in the early '90s as the West Coast Manager of Dance Music. Along with my East Coast counterpart, John Strazza we broke the record for promoting the most #1 singles on the Billboard Club chart in a single year. I promoted and toured with artists that included Cypress Hill, Nas, Public Enemy, Jamiroquai, The Fugees, and Mariah Carey. I would go on to serve as National Director of Promotions for PMP Records. This role included going on the road with PMP artists such as the Latin Hip-Hop group Delinquent Habits to promote their music clubs and at radio in key Latin markets throughout the US.
